CAIRO: “The workers’ demands from the new government” is the title of a press conference launched by the committee defending freedoms of the Press Syndicate, along with the revolutionary socialists’ movement.
The conference takes place on Sunday noon at the syndicate’s headquarters, with the participation of possible presidential candidate Khaled Ali, journalist specialized in economics Wael Gamal, and several members representing a number of companies and independent labor unions.
Workers in different sectors have been organizing strikes demanding the implementation of the minimum wage, social justice and other financial privileges among their labor rights. Examples are the textile workers in Mahalla, post office workers, notaries, doctors and pharmacists, and other state officials.
