CAIRO: Tagammu Party secretary-general said that the interior minister should remain in his post until after the coming elections.

Secretary-General Magdy Sharabeya told Youm7 that the time was not right to “start a battle” to replace Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim, given the threats to national security and the resumption of the school year.

However, he called the Interior Ministry to change its approach in dealing with prisoners, to halt human rights violations, and prevent the indiscriminate arrest of citizens.
