TRIPOLI:  Former Libyan commander Major General Khalifa Haftar vowed to detain Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zidan and head of Libya’s General National Congress (GNC) Nouri Abusahmain if they do not meet demands of the nation, who call for sacking the GNC and the government.

In a phone interview with “Libya lekol Al Ahrar” TV channel, Haftar said that the Libyan army is under his control and pledged to provide security in Benghazi city.

He, meanwhile, urged the army and police to stage acts of civil disobedience, until the GNC and the government are sacked.
