CAIRO: Families of the 5-year-old Zeina, who was murdered after an attempted rape, will stage a vigil in front of the Supreme Court, Downtown, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, demanding the execution of the perpetrators of the incident, Youm7 reported.
Writer Reem Mohaed, a member of the Writers’ Union, will participate in the vigil, after helping the family receive a protest permit from the Interior Ministry to stage the peaceful vigil for two hours.
Zeina was killed in Port Said last November by two teenagers who threw her from the 11th floor of her building after attempting to rape her.
The court sentenced Zeina’s murderers – one 16 years-old, the other 17 – to 15 and 20 years of jail time respectively, the highest punishment allowed for those under 18, yet the father of one of the killers has called for the death penalty.
