CAIRO: The second semester will begin on March 8 as scheduled, and there is no intention to postpone it, said Education Minister Mahmoud Abou el-Nasr in a Saturday statement.
Abou el-Nasr dismissed reports published on some websites and social media networks that claim the ministry was considering postponing the semester.
The ministry is ready for the start of the second semester, said Abou el-Nasr, adding that all schools are equipped with supplies and books and the necessary number of staff members.
Abu el-Nasr also recommended that ministry leaders be present at educational directorates during the first day of the second semester to follow-up on preparations and inspections.
