CAIRO: The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), headed by Abu Bakr el-Gendi, is scheduled to participate in the annual meeting of the United Nations Statistical Commission to be held on March 3-7.
Heads of national statistical bodies, representatives of international, regional, and UN organizations concerned with statistical issues, especially those related to housing, technology and development will also participate in the meeting.
The UN Statistical Commission is slated to discuss the key principles of official statistics, national accounts, world trade and economic globalization statistics, the update of statistical systems, and regional statistics.
Egyptian delegates plan to participate in the talks to present their vision about information gathering methods and ways to promote findings.
They will also highlight the international comparisons program, in which Egypt participated in collaboration with all countries of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).
