Hassan Basyouni officially declines justice minister position

CAIRO: Hassan Basyouni, the head of the Cairo Court of Appeals, who was nominated by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab to assume the position of minister of justice, turned down the position on Saturday.  

Basyouni refused to comment on his decline.

On Friday, Egypt’s Judges Club had announced its rejection of Minister of Justice Adel Abdel Hamid’s resignation.
