CAIRO: Helwan Iron and Steel Company’s head of security sector, Mohamed Tamam, met with Security Director Abdel Moniem Saturday, to negotiate an end to worker strikes.

Company workers initiated an open strike on Saturday, inside the CEO’s office, to demand their due payments from the company’s Fellowship Fund, the referral of those who caused company losses to the Attorney General, the scheduling of the payment of worker bonuses, and the running production lines at full capacity.

Mohamed Omar, one of the company’s labor leaders, told Youm7 that the workers would not end their strike until they directly meet with the CEO to negotiate the achievement of their demands, adding that workers would enter a hunger strike on Sunday if demands are not met.
