ANKARA:  Hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets of the Kadikoy district of Istanbul chanting anti-government slogans in protest against the government, asking Turkey’s premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan to resign.

The protests took place following the release of Baris Guler, the son of the former interior minister, as well as Kaan Caglayan, the son of the ex-economy minister, and businessman Reza Zarrab, who were detained on corruption allegations.

NTV channel said that the demonstration was organized under tight security measures in anticipation of riots and unrest in central Istanbul.
