CAIRO: Luxor African Film Festival adopted the initiative to translate movies into sign language, to be the first festival in Egypt to address the special needs of deaf people.

The festival’s management decided to invite people with hearing loss to attend its events and watch translated movies like “Mice Room” from Egypt and “The Professor” from Tunisia.

Luxor Governor General Tarek Saad al-Din said that this initiative is a step towards the integration of people with special needs in artistic and cultural activities, with an eye on the new constitution that adopts their rights. The third edition of the festival will be held on March 16-24.
