WARSAW: Several hundred protesters gathered on Sunday outside the Russian embassy in Warsaw to protest Russia’s military incursion into Ukraine.

The protesters brandished cards comparing Russian President Vladimir Putin to Hitler and Stalin, while waving Polish, Ukrainian, EU and Belarussian flags, according to an AFP photographer on the scene.

They chanted: “Don’t touch Ukraine,” “Don’t touch Crimea” and “Free Ukraine.”

Poland, which has been very active throughout the crisis in neighboring Ukraine, called on Saturday for an emergency NATO meeting to respond to the Russian military threat.
