CAIRO: Chairman of Egyptian National Railway Samir Nawwar said Sunday that firemen were able to contain the fire that broke out at Apis railway station in Alexandria.
Nawwar told Youm7 that train movement hasn’t been affected by the accident as it works normally between Cairo and Alexandria.
A fire had broken out in a storage building at the Apis railway station in Alexandria. A train that approached the fire had to be stopped.
Sources told Youm7 that station’s workers withdrew the train before flames could reach it.
