CAIRO: The official envoy of the Quartet on the Middle East, Tony Blair, arrived at Cairo International Airport on Monday evening.

Blair is visiting Egypt for several days to meet with Egyptian officials to discuss several issues and the situation in Egypt.

The Quartet envoy had previously announced his support for the current government in Egypt to implement the roadmap and to move to a new stage of democracy.

Blair had accused the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt of stopping the progress of the country and attempting to loot the country’s underlying value.

“We should support all those who call for anopen society and the contemporary economy. It is important to see the region with all its different parts in a unified form, thus, we should support the Egyptian government,” he previously said.
