1 killed, 1 injured in train accident in Giza

CAIRO: Security sources at the Giza Security Directorate reported on Monday that a train ran over a person on a motorbike at Kafr Ammar station in Al-Ayat City in Giza.

One person died and another was injured, sources said. A fire also broke out in one carriage of the train, which was heading from Cairo to Aswan in Upper Egypt.

Civil protection forces provided the train with two fire trucks to put out fires, and the injured person was transported to the hospital to receive treatment, according to Brig. Hany al-Said, head of the fire department in Giza.
