CAIRO: Tamarod spokesperson Maha Abu Bakr said on Monday that it is unlikely any successful reconciliation initiatives will progress with the Muslim Brotherhood as the group “continues its violence against Egyptian people.”
Abu Bakr added in statements to Youm7 that the Brotherhood cannot impose itself on the Egyptian people, adding that reconciliation might take place after presidential elections.
Talking about reconciliation now is an attempt to distract people from the political roadmap, she said, and no reconciliation can take place until Brotherhood figures are held accountable for “violence and corruption.”
Abu Bakr added that every Brotherhood member involved in crimes should confess and apologize to the Egyptian people.
