CAIRO: The government is determined to follow-up investigations of the Egyptians killed in Benghazi and compensate the victims and that their rights are not time-barred, FM assistant Ambassador Ali al-Ashry said.

Libya is going through exceptional conditions since its revolution, not only for Egyptians there but for all citizens. There are one million Egyptians in Libya, Ashry told TV anchor Mohamed Ali Kheir on ‘Good Evening’ TV show.

Ashry said Egyptian-Libyan relations are very special but recently there have been many fake visas to get into Libya, stressing on the importance of traveling to Libya by plane for the safety of the citizens.

He said there is trade between Egypt and Libya that is why they cannot prevent road trips.

Many Egyptians were killed and kidnapped in Libya for unknown reasons recently, such as the seven Egyptian Christian citizens who were shot by unknown assailants.
