CAIRO: Secretary General of the National Council for Human Rights George Isaac denied reports about the council’s decision to retreat from announcing the report on the dispersal of the Rabaa al-Adaweya and Nahda Square sit-ins.
A fact-finding commission had been designated to investigate the incident, following the forceful dispersal, which left between 578 (according to governmental figures) and 1500 dead (according to human rights and civil society organizations).
He added in a statement to Youm7 that the council will announce the results of the investigations conducted by the commission during a press conference on Wednesday. He added that the council will meet hours before the conference to draft its recommendations in this regard.
