CAIRO: The Salafi al-Nour party renewed its rejection of calls for the creation of a new constitution in a Saturday statement to Youm7.

The party urged amending the suspended 2012 constitution according to the roadmap declared by Defense Minister General Abdul Fatah al-Sisi on July 3.

“The al-Nour Party demands executing the agreed-upon roadmap and avoiding discussing matters that might cause problems,” Sherif Taha, the party’s spokesperson, said.

The party denounced remarks made by the spokesperson of the 50-member committee, Mohamed Salmawy ,last Sunday, who described the Islamist party as being “spoiled” by the current administration.
