MENOUFIA, Egypt: Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Mohamed Abdul Muttalib decided the closure of four factories in the industrial zone of Quweisna city that throws their waste into water bodies.

The four factories did not submit plans to adjust their positions, Abdul Muttalib explained Tuesday in press statements on the sidelines of his round at Menoufia. There are several reports filed against them stating environmental violations as well as their rejection for inspection.

Abdul Muttalib visited Ismailia on Monday, which was his first round after the formation of newly appointed Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab’s new Cabinet in order to check irrigation and drainage projects in the governorate.
