March 6: ‘12 Years A Slave’ screening at Egyptian Film Critics Association

CAIRO:  The U.S. movie “12 Years A Slave,” by British director Steve McQueen, will be screened at the Egyptian Film Critics Association on March 9 at 7:00 pm.

Egyptian critic Essam Zakaria will give a symposium about the movie after the screening.

12 Years A Slave won an Oscar for the Best Picture at the 2014 Oscars and Lupita Nyong’o won Oscar for the Best Actress in a supporting role.

The movie features slavery pre-Civil American War, the movie is based on a true story on a man who has been kidnapped and sold into slavery in Louisiana, U.S.

Egyptian Association of Writers and Critics Film Club on March 6 at 7:00 pm.
