CAIRO: The Muslim Brotherhood leader Essam el-Erian called for dialogue on the toppled President Mohamed Morsi’s roadmap in a video aired onAl-Jazeera Mubasher Misr satellite channel on Saturday.
Erian said the “military coup” should admit their mistakes and hold accountable those responsible for them so dialogue over the roadmap proposed by Morsi on July 2 can begin.
He added that the roadmap announced by Defense Minister Abdel Fatth al-Sisi and that proposed by Morsi are almost “identical.”
“Nullifying the people’s will leads to mistrust in elections and facism,” Erian said.
“I feel sorry for what happened in Kerdasa, Nahya and Delga,” Erianadded, demanding the release of detainees.
The Qatari channel aired another video forErian on September 22, in which he called on the Brotherhood’s studentsto protest on the first day of the academic year againstthe “fascist military coup.”
The police forces said it is intensifying efforts to arrest the Brotherhood figure, whom they deem “a threat to Egypt’s national security.” Erian is has outstanding warrants for his arrest over charges of inciting violence .
