Prosecutor extends detention of Brotherhood member, former Menoufia governor
Ahmed Sharawy

SUEZ: The General Prosecution Office in Suez has extended the detention of leading member of the Muslim Brotherhood and former Governor of Menoufia Ahmed Sharawy on Saturday for 15 more days pending investigation.

Sharawy was arrested in mid-September on charges of inciting violence and assault against governmental, religious and private institutions.

A judicial source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Sharawy denied all accusations claiming that the protests organized by the Brotherhood’s supporters were peaceful.
