CAIRO: The Delta Chemicals Company in Quesna has been shut down following a campaign by Minister of Environment Laila Iskander along with Gen. Adel Labib and Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Muttalib to close factories that pollute the environment through factory drainage.

The owner of the factory told Youm 7 it was “not fair” to close the factory because he had adhered to regulations and there was “nothing illegal about the factory.”

The three ministers finished procedure of shutting down the plant and issued a decree that the factory must provide a detailed study regarding its environmental impact before it can open again.
