Agriculture Ministry gives 60K acres to Holding Company for Land Reclamation

CAIRO: The Minister of Agriculture Ayman Abu Hadid agreed to give the Holding Company for Land Reclamation 60 thousand acres to reclaim it east al-Owynat, said Saeid Taha, chairman of the Holding Company for Land Reclamation of the Ministry of Agriculture Tuesday.

Taha told Youm7 they are negotiating with the Principle Bank for Development and Agricultural Credit to fund 60 thousand acres of east al-Owynat to reclaim it and construct infrastructure and fund it with 2 billion EGP, giving 10,000 acres to each reclamation companies.

The company is also negotiating with the head of the General Authority for Rehabilitation Projects and Agricultural Development Major General Magdy Amine to provide companies the right to use 79,000 acres in Beni Suef, he said.

Taha added that he is currently working on an economical feasibility study for the reclamation works.
