CAIRO: The National Council for Human Rights mission visited Abu Zaabal prison Tuesday to observe prisoners’ conditions after receiving an invitation from the Public Prosecution.
NCHR said in a statement that many prisoners assured that they are well treated, and the visit aimed to recognize the application of human rights standards inside detention centers.
Officials in the Ministry of Interior accompanied the NCHR mission during the visit and were also able to meet with prisoners.
They also visited the prison hospital and the library and said that “treatment in prison is good in general.”
