Road of the Revolutionary Front demands release of detainees

CAIRO: Road of the Revolutionary Front media official Shaimaa Hamdy said the front will organize a press conference with the Journalists Syndicate March 8 at the syndicate headquarters.

Hamdy told Youm7 that the aim of the press conference is to demand the release of detained political activists who were arrested recently.

She added that they plan also to organize a women’s protest on March 8 coinciding with International Women’s Day to demand the immediate release of revolutionary youth.

Several political activists were randomly detained and arrested during in different governorates, including Loai Kahwagy, Omar Hazek, and Islam Hassanen, who were detained on Dec. 2, 2013 in Alexandria for protesting in solidarity with Khaled Said without permission in front of the Alexandria Court, she said.

Ahmed Maher, Ahmed Doma, Mohamed Adel and Alaa Abdel Fatah were also detained for protesting without permission.
