SHARQIYA, Egypt: Policemen busted a real estate broker who was in possession of several ancient Egyptian antiquities in Mashtoul as Souq city south of Al Sharqiya on Wednesday, according to Youm7.
While First Lieutenant Lotfy Abdel Alaal was working in a consonant checkpoint by the entrance of Sharqiya, he stopped and searched the broker’s car at a checkpoint. In the process, Alaal found several antiquities including a papyrus scroll, two golden coins, and a 15 cm high statue and seized.
The broker was arrested because he was also in possession of two mobile phones with video clips of ancient tombs and a papyrus.
The antiquities were seized and the defendant was referred to the prosecution.
