Suez Canal revenues higher edges 8.5% higher in November: Cabinet

CAIRO: Suez Canal revenues edged up to $442.4 million in November, registering an 8.5 percent increase year on year, the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) announced Wednesday.

According to IDSC’s monthly seasonal of economic and social indicators, the number of ships that passed through the Suez Canal dropped by five percent, totaling at 1,428 in November compared to 1,503 ships in October.

IDSC said the number of oil tanks that crossed Suez Canal registered an 11.3 percent increase in November, with 297 carriers, compared to the 235 carriers in the previous month.
