CAIRO: The highest administrative authority in the State Council, headed by advisor Farid Nazih Tanagho, approved on Wednesday a legislative proposal allowing the decisions of the Presidential Elections Commission to be appealed.

The decisions can only be appealed by candidates in the Supreme Administrative Court within two days of the decision, and must be adjudicated within seven days without being revised by the Board of State Commissioners to the Administrative Court, according to a statement.

The council began examining this proposal upon a request by the president and according to Article 185 of the constitution, which stipulates that judicial authorities must consider legislative provisions before they are ratified, according to high-level judicial sources in the State Council.
